The Green Bay Packers have signed WR Jamel Johnsonand RBRoss Scheuermanto the practice squad and released DB Kyle Sebeticfrom the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 217-pound rookie, played at Alabama State after transferring from Troy. In his only season at Alabama State, he finished as the third-leading receiver, catching 28 passes for 328 yards (11.7 avg.) and a team-leading five touchdowns. Johnson will wear No. 10 for the Packers.
Scheuerman (SHER-man), a 6-foot, 210-pound rookie out of Lafayette (Pa.) College, originally signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a non-drafted free agent on May 8, 2015. He was placed on injured reserve early in training camp and was released on Aug. 28, 2015. Scheuerman played in 45 career games and was a four-time All-Patriot League selection. He finished his collegiate career with 3,504 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns. Scheuerman will wear No. 26 for Green Bay.
