The Green Bay Packers have signed RB Deshaun Fenwick to the practice squad and placed RB Ellis Merriweather on practice squad; injured. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
Fenwick (6-1, 223), a rookie out of Oregon State, originally signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024, and spent the offseason and parts of training camp with the Patriots. He played his first three seasons at the University of South Carolina before transferring to Oregon State for three more seasons. Overall, Fenwick played in 50 collegiate games and had 385 rushing attempts for 2,039 yards (5.3 avg.) and 18 touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 213 yards (6.9 avg.) and two TDs. Fenwick will wear No. 35 for the Packers.
