THOMPSON, McCARTHY TO ADDRESS FANS
The Green Bay Packers' fifth annual Draft Party, set for April 26 in the Lambeau Field Atrium, will include appearances by Packers players Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, Jarrett Bush, James Jones, and Koren Robinson.
The players will participate in question-and-answer sessions on stage and sign autographs for attendees via a ticketed session. Attendees will receive a ticket for one randomly assigned autograph session when entering the party.
Fans in attendance also will hear from Packers GM Ted Thompson and Head Coach Mike McCarthy. Thompson will address the crowd immediately after the team's selection to discuss the newest member of the Green and Gold.
Brighter screens, improved audio: To enhance attendees' enjoyment of the day, this year's party will feature the use of brighter projection screens and additional audio components, allowing for better viewing and hearing of the network TV and Newsradio 620 WTMJ coverage of the draft. Several large flat screen TVs also will be located throughout the Atrium.
The event, which runs from 2 to 9 p.m. (doors will open at 1 p.m.), again features popular raffle and door prizes which allows fans to obtain autographed footballs, mini-helmets and authentic helmets. The draft history contest's first prize is an autographed football from the Packers' 2008 No. 1 pick. This year's free commemorative item is a Packers Draft Party T-shirt.
Tickets for the event, priced at $25, currently are available at 18 Wisconsin Mills Fleet Farm locations and must be purchased in person. Children 3 and younger are free.
The Atrium again will be a Wi-Fi "Hot Spot." The "Hot Spot" will allow attendees who bring wireless-enabled laptops to log on to their favorite draft Web sites and follow the day's action online. Computer stations also will be available that will enable fans to track draft information via the Web. A limited amount of tables will have power available and a charging station also will be set up for users to recharge their laptop computer batteries.
