GREEN BAY – The Packers took USF receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling with their third and final fifth-round pick (No. 174 overall) of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
At 6-foot-5, 209 pounds, Valdes-Scantling finished his college career with 119 receptions for 1,832 yards and 12 touchdowns in 48 games (35 starts). A transfer from NC State in 2015,
Valdes-Scantling set a USF record with 879 receiving yards on a team-high 53 receptions during his senior year.
He ran a 4.37-second time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and possesses 10¼-inch hands. Valdes-Scantling is the second receiver the Packers have drafted, joining Missouri's J'Mon Moore (fourth round, 133rd overall).
