The Green Bay Packers presented the 'Packers Fan Appreciation Giveaway' prize, a Chevy truck, to John Attey at halftime of Sunday's victory over the Chicago Bears.
Attey, a Packers fan from Portland, Ore., was a guest of the Packers at the game and was introduced on-field beside the Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab pickup truck valued at $35,000. The contest, which was created to thank dedicated Packers fans, drew more than 51,000 entries.
"I'm still surprised," Attey said. "Knowing more than 51,000 people entered the contest and I won is crazy. I still can't believe it. It doesn't feel real yet. This is only my second time at Lambeau but what an experience. I will never forget this."
Five second place winners each will receive $100 Packers Pro Shop gift cards. They are Alfredo Castro, Merced, Calif.; Amy Dowdy, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Kelly Luokkala, Ishpeming, Mich.; Dennis Ottosen, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; and Veronica Maahs, Wasilla, AK.
The contest's registration period ran from Dec. 1 through Dec. 20.
