11-0 PACKERS HEAD EAST TO FACE THE GIANTS
- Green Bay stays on the road today to face the Giants at MetLife Stadium, the team's first visit to New York to face the Giants since 2007.
- The Packers will be looking to clinch a postseason berth for the third straight season. Green Bay can lock down a playoff spot with a win and can also clinch the NFC North title with a victory and a Detroit loss.
- The Packers are off to an 11-0 start for the first time in franchise history. They are just the 11th team in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to begin the season with 11 consecutive victories.
- Including playoffs, the Packers have won 17 straight games, the longest winning streak in team history (12-game streak in 1961-62).
- That is one victory shy of tying the second-longest winning streak in NFL history behind the 2003-04 New England Patriots (21 games).
- The Packers' streak of 13 straight wins in the regular season (2010-11) is a franchise record, topping the previous mark of 11-game streaks in 1928-29 and 1961-62. Green Bay has also set a single-season franchise record with 11 straight regular-season wins in 2011, topping the previous best of 10 games in 1929 and 1962.
- This marks the second regular-season winning streak of eight or more games during Head Coach Mike McCarthy'stenure (eight-game streak in 2006-07).
- Two of the most venerable franchises in professional football history, the Packers and Giants have combined for 20 championships. Green
- Bay ranks No. 1 among all NFL franchises with 13 titles, while the Giants check in at No. 3 with seven championships.
- The Packers and Giants squared off in five NFL championship games, with Green Bay winning four of those contests. New York won the 1938 title at the Polo Grounds in New York, but the Packers defeated the Giants in the championship game in 1939, 1944, 1961 and 1962.
- Green Bay holds a 30-23-2 edge in the all-time series, which includes a 4-2 postseason record. The teams first met in 1928 in New York.
- This will be the first meeting between the teams at MetLife Stadium. It will be the second straight season that the Packers have played at the stadium, with Green Bay topping the N.Y. Jets, 9-0, last season in Week 8.
ON A ROLL ON THE ROAD
- The Packers are off to their first 6-0 start on the road in franchise history, besting the 5-0 starts away from home in 1929, 1936, 1941 and 2007.
- Including playoffs, Green Bay has won a league-best nine consecutive road games and 11 of its last 14. The .786 road winning percentage over that span ranks No. 1 in the NFL.
- The Packers' nine-game winning streak away from Lambeau Field ties a franchise record (1966-67). Green Bay is the only team in the league that is undefeated on the road this season.
- Since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule in 1978, the Packers' best road records came in 2004 and 2007, when the team registered 6-2 marks each of those seasons.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- The Packers rank No. 1 in the NFL in scoring at 34.7 points per game...Their 382 points this season are the most in franchise history through 11 games and the fourth most by an NFL team through 11 contests since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
- The Packers have scored at least 24 points in every game this season, the only team in the NFL to accomplish that feat in 2011 and the first defending Super Bowl champion to do so. It is the franchise recordfor most consecutive 24-point games in a single season, topping the previous mark of eight games in 1963.
QB Aaron Rodgers– Has registered a 110-plus passer rating in every game this season, an 11-game streak that is the longest single- season streak in NFL history...With the 11 games with a 110-plus rating, is tied for the No. 1 mark in NFL history with 49ers QB Steve Young (11) for the most in a single season...With a 300-yard passing game today, would top Brett Favre (seven in 1995 and 2007) for the most 300-yard games by a Packer in a single season with eight...Is one of only three quarterbacks in NFL history to throw two-plus TD passes in each of the first 11 games of the season, joining Colts QB Johnny Unitas (1959) and Colts QB Peyton Manning (2004). *
