The Packers Hall of Fame this month is displaying a variety of art pieces from its second annual Packers Art Contest as a celebration of National Youth Art Month.
The Hall received many entries, in a variety of mediums, representing this year's theme, 'Pick Your Packer.' Entries came from throughout Wisconsin, and from as far as Illinois, Kentucky, and Utah. The pieces were judged by art students from St. Norbert College based on creativity, originality and overall impression.
"It has been a lot of fun and we received many terrific entries," said Kris Broderick, Packers Hall of Fame educational coordinator.
Winners in the four categories were Simon Schairer, Birnamwood, Wisc., (grades K-2); Weston Gonnering, De Pere, Wisc., (grades 3-5); Samuel Jasmer, Green Bay (grades 6-8); and Jocelyn Schmidt, Milwaukee (grades 9-12). Winners received four complimentary passes to the Hall of Fame, plus a $100 gift certificate to the Packers Pro Shop.
The exhibition of the pieces will continue through the end of the month. Artists who are interested in retrieving their pieces may arrange a pickup appointment between April 11 and May 1 by calling 920/569-7133.
