How would you like to own an 8-foot replica of "The Receiver" statue that graced the original Packers Hall of Fame until very recently?

Or a 5-by-3-foot photo of memorable action in the legendary Ice Bowl of New Year's Eve, 1967?

Or a 6-by-5-foot classic photo of the fabled Vince Lombardi coaching from the Lambeau Field sideline?

All three of these are among the treasures, formerly on exhibit in the Hall of Fame prior to its relocation to Lambeau Field, that will be available in a historic auction of memorabilia to be held at the Fox River Mall in Appleton on Sunday, September 28.

The auction will be conducted in the Café Court outside the Scheels All-Sports mall entrance. There will be a preview for bidders at 8 a.m., to be followed by the auction from 9 to 11 a.m.

In addition to the "Receiver" statue replica and the huge Ice Bowl photo, the multiple items to be available include:

  • A Mike Holmgren Super Bowl XXXI celebration photo
  • A huge (6-by-5-foot) classic photo of a Ray Nitschke 'hit'
  • Historic team photos from the Packers' beginnings

-Lambeau Field stadium view panels

-And many, many more items of historical value.

There will be a $5 fee for a Collectors' Bidding Card featuring the new Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame logo. A certificate of authenticity will be provided for every item purchased. The winning bidders will be responsible for their purchases and their removal at the conclusion of the auction. Marvin R. Dorshorst will be the auctioneer.
