The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame announced today that it has chosen the winners of the fifth annual Packers Art Contest, which celebrates National Youth Art Month in March.
Winners in the four categories are Finn Stuth, Sturgeon Bay, Wis., (grades K-2); Cayli Johnson, Berlin, Wis., (grades 3-5); Miriam Huerta, Mukwonago, Wis., (grades 6-8); and Olivia Stuck, Findlay, Ohio, (grades 9-12).
Beginning today, a variety of the art pieces from the contest will be on display in celebration of National Youth Art Month. In addition to having their artwork displayed in the Atrium, the winners received a $100 gift card to the Packers Pro Shop and a certificate in recognition of their winning piece signed by Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.
The Hall received more than 80 entries, in a variety of mediums, representing the theme, 'Pick Your Packer.' Entries came from throughout Wisconsin, as well as from California and Ohio. The pieces were judged by art students from St. Norbert College based on creativity, originality and overall impression.
"We're happy to have received so many entries from our young fans," said Kris Broderick, Packers Hall of Fame educational coordinator. "We appreciate them sharing their art expertise with us, and look forward to hanging them in the Atrium for our guests to enjoy."
Artists who are interested in retrieving their pieces may arrange a pickup appointment between April 14 and May 2 by calling 920/569-7133. Artists should call three days prior to the desired pickup date to ensure that the artwork is ready and available.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame is now closed for stadium renovations, and will reopen in April 2015. Lambeau Field stadium tours are still available for $11 ($8 for children 10 and younger). For more information, please visit www.packers.com/lambeau-field/stadium-tours.html.
