Registration is now open for the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame's seventh annual "Tundra Tales" at-home reading program for students in grades 4K through 8. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 20, and the program will run from Jan. 23 through March 26, 2017.
The "Tundra Tales" program aims to develop lifelong reading habits by encouraging children to read at home. Students in 4K through fifth grade must read or be read to for 60 minutes every week, outside of school, for eight weeks (a total of 480 minutes). Students in sixth through eighth grades must read 90 minutes a week (a total of 720 minutes).
Students who achieve the goal will earn one participant admission to the Packers Hall of Fame.
Tracking sheets are available on packers.com and must be filled out and signed by parents to show completion of the required minutes. The deadline to turn in tracking sheets to teachers is Wednesday, March 29.
Last year more than 5,000 students from across the state participated in the at-home reading program. Homeschoolers have also participated in the program, and are encouraged to continue doing so.
