GREEN BAY -- The Packers will have the 29th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
That has been determined now that the conference championship games have been played. The two conference runners-up pick 29th and 30th, and the Steelers will pick 30th based on their 11-5 regular-season record, one game better than the Packers at 10-6.
The two Super Bowl participants -- Atlanta and New England -- will pick 31st and 32nd, depending on who wins the Super Bowl.
For posterity's sake, the last time the Packers had the 29th pick in the draft was in 2003, and they selected LB Nick Barnett from Oregon State, who went on to play eight seasons in Green Bay. The Packers also took S George Teague at No. 29 back in 1993, a pick that was acquired via trade.
Elsewhere in the NFC North, the Chicago Bears will have the No. 3 overall pick, and the Detroit Lions will select 21st. The Minnesota Vikings do not have a first-round pick because they traded it to acquire QB Sam Bradford last summer.
The 2017 draft will take place from April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
