The Green Bay Packers enter the the bye with a 2-1 record.
- Dating back to 2006, this is the eighth time, including the third in a row, that Green Bay has a .500 or better record at the bye week (2015, 6-0 / 2014, 5-3 / 2012, 6-3 / 2011, 7-0 / 2010, 6-3 / 2009, 2-2 / 2008, 4-3 / 2007, 5-1).
- It is the second time in four years that the Packers have a bye in Week 4 (2013). In 2013, Green Bay also played at home after the bye, beating Detroit, 22-9.
- Last week, the Packers defeated the Detroit Lions, 34-27, improving to 9-2 (.818) in home openers under Head Coach Mike McCarthy, including winning each of the last three.
- The Packers scored 31 first-half points against Detroit last week, their highest total since posting 31 vs. Atlanta in the first half on Dec. 8, 2014.
- After the bye, Green Bay will play the second of four consecutive home games over a five-week span. It is the first time the Packers have played four consecutive home games during a single regular season since 1963 (Games 1-4).
- This season was the first time since 2008 (Week 1 vs. Minnesota and Week 2 at Detroit) that Green Bay played against division opponents in two of the first three games.
- Green Bay is currently second in the NFC North, trailing Minnesota (3-0), and ahead of Detroit (1-2) and Chicago (0-3). The Packers' next division game will come in Week 7 when they host the Bears in a Thursday night matchup. After that the Packers will not face a divisional opponent until Week 15 when they finish the regular season with three straight divsion games for just the fourth time since 1990 (1991, 2000, 2006).
- Two of the Packers' next three games will be played in primetime (Sunday, Oct. 9 vs. New York Giants and Thursday, Oct. 20 vs. Chicago Bears).
- It will be the third year in a row that Green Bay has played on Sunday night football in the week after the bye.
IN AND OUT OF THE BYE
- Green Bay's win over Detroit marked the sixth consecutive game at Lambeau Field the Packers have won when it has led into the bye week (2007-08, 2010, 2012, 2015-16).
- The Packers improved to 7-4 (.636) under Head Coach Mike McCarthy in the game heading into the open date on their schedule. Green Bay has won the game after the bye four of the previous six times it won the game heading into the bye.
- The Packers will play at home in the week after the bye for the fourth time in the McCarthy era. Green Bay has won each of the previous three. The last time the Packers played at home after the bye was in 2014, a 55-14 win over Chicago.
- Green Bay will face an NFC opponent for the sixth time after the bye since 2006, but it will be the first time they play a team outside the NFC North. The Packers have won each of the five previous matchups against NFC teams in the week after the bye.
- In games immediately following its bye week, Green Bay has won 15 of its last 20 (.750), including wins in six of the last seven. Overall, the Packers are 8-2 under McCarthy in games played the week after the bye.
- From 2009-14, Green Bay won its first game after the bye in each season, outscoring its opponents, 203-84, in those contests. That included a 26-0 win vs. Detroit in 2009, a 31-3 victory at Minnesota in 2010, a 22-9 win vs. Detroit in 2013 and a 55-14 win over Chicago in 2014.
- Since McCarthy took over in 2006, the Packers have a 61-34-1 overall record (.640) after the bye. Since 2009, Green Bay is 44-21-1 (.674) overall after the bye.
