The Green Bay Packers play the New York Jets in the second week of the regular season. The game will kick off the Packers' 58th season at Lambeau Field. It is the Jets' first visit to Lambeau Field since Dec. 3, 2006. * The Jets own a 8-3 record in the series, but the Packers won the last matchup, shutting out the Jets on the road in 2010 (9-0). It was the first time the Jets were shut out since 2006. * With QB Aaron Rodgersas the starting quarterback, the Packers are 2-1 against AFC East teams, including 1-0 against the Jets. * Four of the last six matchups between the two teams have been decided by single digits, including the only overtime game between the Packers and Jets, a 19-16 victory for New York in 1991. * All but one of the four contests that the Packers and Jets have played at Lambeau Field have been decided by seven or fewer points. While Green Bay has been the home team six times in the series, two of those games took place in Milwaukee. * Two of Green Bay's three wins against the Jets have come as the home team, but only one has taken place at Lambeau Field. The other took place in Milwaukee when the teams met for the first time on Sept. 17, 1973 (23-7). * This will be the third time the Packers will open their home slate against the Jets (1973 in Milwaukee, 2000 in Green Bay). It will tie for the most home openers Green Bay has played against an AFC team (Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders).
