The Green Bay Packers formally illuminated the new "G" that adorns the exterior façade of the new video board on Lambeau Field's south end on Friday night.
The "G" symbol was first affixed to the outside of the south end video board after the then-new video boards were installed in 2012. Visible for miles, including with external lighting after nightfall, the "G" has become a prominent symbol on the Green Bay horizon. Many community members and fans who had grown accustomed to its beacon-like presence have been acutely aware of its absence the past several months as the new video boards were installed.
The new "G" has internal lighting that enhances its presence, making it even more visible across Brown County.
