The Green Bay Packers named 10 Community Quarterback Award winners Wednesday, Jan. 11, and honored the recipients at a lunch in the Legends Club inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.
The recipients were recognized for their work in the community. Each Community Quarterback Award winner received a $2,000 grant for his/her non-profit group.
"It is inspiring to meet with individuals that have made such tremendous impacts on their communities," said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. "The Green Bay Packers are honored to recognize such admirable leaders for their dedication in bettering society and motivating others."
Funded by the Green Bay Packers and NFL Charities, the Community Quarterback Award recognizes outstanding volunteers within the state of Wisconsin. Non-profit (501(c)(3) or 509) organizations nominated outstanding volunteers who demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to bettering their communities through volunteerism. The volunteers are not compensated for their services.
The winners of the 2011 Community Quarterback Awards and their affiliations are as follows:
- Lee Will of Wausau — Central Wisconsin Children's Theatre Inc., Wausau
- Jill Schneider of Madison — Community GroundWorks, Madison
- Jordyn Schara of North Freedom — HOPE (Helping Our Peers Excel), North Freedom
- Will Harrington of Wauwatosa — Best Buddies Wisconsin, Wauwatosa
- John Milisauskas of Kenosha — Kenosha Literacy Council Inc., Kenosha
- Jim Graziano of Green Bay — Golden House, Green Bay
- John and Mary Kurzynski of Pulaski — The Community Pantry of Pulaski, Pulaski
- Fred and Nancy Umland of Neenah — Best Friends of Neenah-Menasha, Neenah
- John Jagemann of Manitowoc — Manitowoc County Domestic Violence Center, Manitowoc
- Dorrinne Bebault of Osceola — Lamar Community Center Inc., St. Croix Falls
