The Green Bay Packers Saturday promoted running back Walter Williams to the active roster and waived wide receiver Kelvin Kight, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.

Williams had spent 2004 training camp with Green Bay until the club released him in the final regular-season roster reduction, Sept. 4. He re-signed to the team's practice squad Sept. 15, where he's spent the past two months.

Kight originally joined the Packers as a waiver-wire acquisition from St. Louis, Aug. 11. Waived Sept. 4, he joined the practice squad Sept. 7, then was promoted to the active roster Oct. 16.
