The Green Bay Packers have re-signed defensive tackle Terdell Sands to the team's practice squad, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced Wednesday.

The 6-7, 337-pound Sands, signed as a free agent Feb. 3, 2003, had been on the active roster during the preseason, posting 3 unassisted tackles, before being placed on waivers Aug. 26 in the NFL-mandated reduction to the 65-player limit. Signed to the practice squad Sept. 2, he remained there until being waived Sept. 16.

Originally a seventh-round draft selection of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2001, Sands previously had spent time on the Packers' practice squad during the 2002 season.

Sands has been assigned jersey No. 78.

Wide receiver Frank Rice was waived to make room for Sands on the practice squad roster.
