The Green Bay Packers have re-signed TE Jermichael Finley. The signing was announced Thursday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

In 2011, Finley matched his career high with 55 receptions and recorded career bests in receiving yards (767) and touchdown receptions (eight). The reception and yardage single-season totals rank No. 2 in franchise history by a tight end. Finley also ranked No. 3 in the NFL in receiving average among tight ends (min. 40 receptions) with a 13.9-yard average in 2011. He joined Paul Coffman as the only tight ends in franchise history to register two 600-yard receiving seasons (also 2009).

Finley, a third-round draft pick by the Packers in 2008, has played in 48 games with 29 starts during his four seasons in Green Bay. He has caught 137 passes for 1,818 yards (13.3 avg.) and 15 touchdowns during his career.
