The Green Bay Packers have released GJoe Gibbs. The transaction was announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Gibbs, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound first-year player out of Tennessee-Martin, was on Green Bay's practice squad for the final six regular-season contests and both playoff games last season. He originally entered the NFL as a non-drafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in June 2010.
