The Green Bay Packers have released P Derrick Frost, placed LB Nick Barnett and DE Kenny Pettway on injured reserve with knee injuries and signed DT Alfred Malone and CB Joe Porter from the practice squad. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transactions Monday.
Barnett started nine games for the Packers. He tallied 68 tackles (49 solos), a forced fumble and two passes defensed.
Pettway appeared in eight games and tallied five special teams tackles.
Malone, a 6-foot-4, 312-pound first-year player from Troy, will wear No. 98. Porter, a 5-foot-10, 203-pound first-year player from Rutgers, will wear No. 40.
Both Malone and Porter have spent parts of the last two seasons on the Packers' practice squad.
