As fans are preparing for Friday night's Green Bay Packers-Arizona Cardinals preseason opener, the Packers are reminding game attendees that the NFL's new stadium safety policy, announced last month, will be implemented at Lambeau Field for all games. It is recommended that fans allow extra time for entry into Lambeau Field. Gates open two hours prior to kickoff.
No bags or purses will be allowed inside Lambeau Field unless they are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and are no larger than 12" by 6" by 12". Small clutches that do not exceed 4.5" by 6.5" are permitted, but subject to search. Cameras and binoculars may continue to be carried into the stadium but must be kept in a clear bag and not in a camera/binocular bag.
Stadium cushions are also not allowed as a part of the new policy, however, stadium seats and stadium pads that contain no pockets, zippers or concealed areas, and are 18" wide or smaller are allowed.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, for which a separate entrance gate is located adjacent to the ticket office at the north end of the stadium.
Any items that do not fit the above descriptions must be returned to vehicles or discarded at the gates. For more information on the NFL's new policy, please visit nfl.com/allclear. A photo gallery with examples of acceptable carry-ins can be viewed at http://pckrs.com/3elq.
Additionally, law enforcement officials will continue to use hand-held metal detection wands as a part of the entry process, a protocol introduced two seasons ago.
Fans are also reminded to enter Lambeau Field only through the gate designated on their ticket. This is the best and most efficient way to enter the stadium and will help reduce longer lines at entrance points. The Shopko Gate may only be accessed by ticket holders with seats in the South End Zone (designated by an "s" after the section number on game tickets), as other areas of the stadium cannot be reached by this gate.
The Lambeau Field Atrium and guest relations desk will open at 12 p.m. for ticketed guests only for Friday's preseason opener. The Lambeau Field parking lot will open at 3 p.m. and gates will open at 5 p.m.
