GREEN BAY – In their banged-up receiving corps, the Packers have ruled out Randall Cobb for Sunday's game in Detroit.
This will be the second straight game Cobb has missed due to a hamstring injury sustained in practice last week.
Fellow receiver Davante Adams (calf) is scheduled to practice on Saturday after sitting out Thursday's workout, so there's a chance he can play. Geronimo Allison remains in the concussion protocol, but Head Coach Mike McCarthy said on Friday, "There's hope for Geronimo."
Regarding how much the Packers might have to rely on their three rookie receivers offensively on Sunday, McCarthy wasn't going to reveal any specifics.
"As far as how we're going to play, that's what Sunday's for," he said.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has been dealing with a left knee injury since Week 1, was a full participant in Thursday's practice. It was another sign of progress for Rodgers, who was limited in last Thursday's practice, the lone padded workout each week.
"It's a step forward definitely," McCarthy said. "He's improving. He took every rep yesterday in practice. I anticipate he'll practice tomorrow."
The official injury report will be released later on Friday.
