For the 21st season, the Green Bay Packers and Sargento Foods Inc. will lead a joint effort to help feed families in Wisconsin.
As part of the Touchdowns for Hunger™ program, Sargento will donate a total of $2,000 for every touchdown that the Packers score during the regular season.
"For more than two decades, our partnership with the Packers has made a difference in our community. While we're incredibly proud to be the Official Cheese of the Green Bay Packers, we're even more proud of the significant impact we're making in our community through Touchdowns for Hunger. We look forward to another year of rooting for the Green and Gold while helping alleviate hunger and food insecurity for Wisconsin families," said Louie Gentine, third Generation CEO of Sargento Foods.
Each donation made by Sargento will be shared by Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee and Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay. Last season, the Packers scored 42 touchdowns during the regular season, with Packers all-time leading receiver Donald Driver also contributing to the cause, resulting in a total donation of $104,000.
Since it began in 2002, Touchdowns for Hunger™ has raised more than $1.8 million to help tackle hunger in Wisconsin and has provided more than one million meals to help feed families in need.
