Wisconsin Hunger Task Force And Paul's Pantry To Benefit
The Green Bay Packers and Sargento raised a total of $90,000 during the 2009 season for the "Touchdowns for Charity" program to benefit the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee County and Paul's Pantry in Green Bay.
During the regular season, Sargento donated $1,000 to the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force for each touchdown scored by the Packers ($54,000 on 54 TDs), and $500 to Paul's Pantry for each TD scored by the team's wide receivers and tight ends ($13,500 on 27 TDs). Sargento then raised the stakes in the postseason by doubling the contribution for each touchdown ($12,000 on six TDs, and $4,000 on four TDs, respectively).
Totals for each: $66,000 for the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force and $17,500 for Paul's Pantry.
In the end, Sargento is taking it a step further and rounding up their totals, so the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force will receive $70,000 and Paul's Pantry will receive $20,000.
Since partnering six years ago, Sargento – the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field – has contributed more than $500,000 to Wisconsin food charities such as the Hunger Task Force and Paul's Pantry.
Sargento, a family-owned, Wisconsin-based company, is supporting Packers' licensing throughout Wisconsin grocery retailers during the season with in-store displays and special product promotions to generate excitement with Packers fans. Sargento is also present at Lambeau in concessions with cheeseburgers featuring Sargento Sliced Natural Cheddar cheese. To learn more about Sargento visit www.sargento.com.
