Pete Carroll seemed like a grade-schooler cheated out of a candy shopping spree after the game on Sunday. I sense blood in the water and an inkling of panic from the defending NFC champs. I think we've exposed their weakness in our previous two contests: Make Russell Wilson beat you.
I think you're guilty of chortling, possibly even taunting. I also think you need to remind yourself these two teams could face each other again, and the Seahawks will be doubly tough to beat, regardless of where the game is played. I see no reason to disrespect them. They played hard and clean.

The Packers play four division games in a row starting on November 15. Will those four games define the Packers' season?
I would probably consider it a disappointment if the postseason doesn't define this team's season. I acknowledge circumstances can change abruptly, as they did in 2013 when December defined that team's season, but I have a very good feeling about this team, and I acquired that feeling in the hours immediately following last winter's NFC title game. I had no doubt Mike McCarthy would have it focused for another run, and he does.

It was the loudest, most alert and responsive Lambeau Field crowd I've witnessed since I began covering the team.

Can you please explain what is meant by defensive linemen setting the edge?
Once upon a time, it was called turning a play inside. It just means setting the perimeter boundary. The tighter the boundaries, the less space a back has to maneuver. Nick Perry is said to be very good at setting the edge. In his case it means holding the point of attack against some very big blockers. What does holding the point of attack mean? It means refusing to be moved, or holding your ground. For a defensive lineman, that's also known as two-gapping, or playing on the head of the offensive lineman and being responsible for the gaps immediately to the right and left. The Packers do a lot of two-gapping, which is common for a 3-4 defense. Last night, they played some gap control, which means they got into the gaps, penetrated and disrupted the play. They also run-blitzed. It's an effective way of defensing Marshawn Lynch; stop him before he gets started. The risk is somebody won't secure his gap and Lynch will crease you. Dom Capers put together a very creative and aggressive scheme, but he'd be the first to tell you his scheme's success was fully dependent on his players' execution of it.
