GREEN BAY – The Packers have added another weapon to their offense.
Green Bay selected Purdue wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey with the first of two fifth-round picks on Saturday.
The Packers chose Yancey with pick No. 175 overall after trading back three spots. The Broncos took Green Bay's original fifth-round slot at No. 172, and the Packers picked up an extra seventh-rounder, No. 238.
Yancey (6-2, 201) played four years at Purdue, leading the team in receiving yards each of his last two seasons. His best season was in 2016, when he caught 49 passes for 950 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging an impressive 19.4 yards per catch.
He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors last season.
Yancey became a regular in the Purdue offense in his true freshman season. He's an under-the-radar prospect, coming from a struggling program that won just nine games over his four seasons.
