GREEN BAY – It didn't take the Packers long to establish that their reshuffled offensive line was going to be just fine.
With Lane Taylor sliding out from guard to play left tackle for the first time, Lucas Patrick making his first NFL start at Taylor's usual left guard spot, and Justin McCray starting again at right tackle, the Packers wasted no time getting to work.
They took the opening kickoff and marched 75 yards in 10 plays for an early touchdown that set the tone in their 35-14 victory over the Bears on Thursday Night Football. That opening drive is the Chevy Drive of the Week.
It featured five carries for 28 yards by RB Ty Montgomery on Green Bay's first six plays. Montgomery would then leave the game with a chest injury, but WR Randall Cobb added two catches for 16 yards.
QB Aaron Rodgers then converted on third-and-1 with a play-action rollout pass to TE Martellus Bennett, who gained 26 yards overall to set up first-and-goal. Rodgers finished the drive with a 5-yard TD toss to WR Davante Adams and the Packers had a lead they would extend to 21-0 before the Bears got on the board late in the second quarter.
