Packers sign C Gerhart to practice squad, release WR Dunn

Backup center was with Packers in training camp

The Green Bay Packers have signed C Garth Gerhartto the practice squad and released WR Reggie Dunn from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Thursday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Gerhart, a 6-foot-1, 310-pound first-year player out of Arizona State, was on Green Bay's practice squad for the final week of the 2012 postseason and remained with the Packers until being released in the final roster reduction at the conclusion of the preseason. He originally entered the league as a non-drafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in May 2012 and spent the 2012 regular season on Cleveland's practice squad. Gerhart will wear No. 72 for the Packers.
