The Green Bay Packers have signed CB Bené Benwikere to the practice squad and released CB Keith Baxter from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Benwikere (ben-ay ben-WICK-urr-rhee), a 5-foot-11, 196-pound third-year player, was originally selected out of San Jose State by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round (148th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He started 14 of 27 regular-season games and two postseason contests for the Panthers before being released on Oct. 7, 2016. Benwikere went on to spend some time on the Miami Dolphins' roster and practice squad this season. He will wear No. 31 for the Packers.
