The Green Bay Packers Monday signed free agent cornerback Patrick Dendy. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the addition.

Dendy, a 6-foot, 194-pound cornerback from Rice, was out of football in 2004, and spent the year pursuing his degree in economics. The speedy defensive back lettered four seasons (2000-03) at Rice, where he served as a three-year starter. In 42 games (29 starts), he recorded 130 tackles, two interceptions and 17 passes defensed.

A three-sport athlete as a prep, Dendy also lettered in basketball and track at McNeil High School in Austin, Texas.
