The Green Bay Packers have signed DE Anthony Hargrove. The signing was announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Hargrove, a 6-foot-3, 282-pound eighth-year player out of Georgia Tech, appeared in 15 contests for the Seattle Seahawks in 2011, posting 17 tackles (12 solo) and three sacks. He played in 30 games with six starts for the New Orleans Saints from 2009-10 and registered five sacks in '09.
Hargrove was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round (91st overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played in 35 games with 19 starts in two-plus seasons with the Rams, recording career highs in tackles (82), solo tackles (43) and sacks (6½) in 2005. Hargrove was traded to Buffalo during the '06 season and went on to play 22 games for the Bills in 2006-07.
For his career, Hargrove has played in 102 games with 25 starts and posted 323 tackles (163 solo), 19½ sacks, three forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and nine passes defensed, along with 35 tackles and a forced fumble on special teams.
