The Green Bay Packers Monday signed non-drafted rookie free agent Seante Williams, GM/Head Coach Mike Sherman announced.
The 6-6, 242-pound defensive end, whose first name is pronounced shawn-TAY, was not eligible for the NFL Draft in April, but was made available for the Supplemental Draft. When no team selected him he became a free agent. He has played at three different colleges. During his 2003 senior season at Jacksonville State, he recorded 14 tackles and 21/2 sacks.
As a junior, he played for Brett Favre's alma mater, Southern Mississippi, after transferring there from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College.
Williams is No. 73 (green) on the Packers' roster.
