The Green Bay Packers signed FBJoe Kerridgeto the practice squad. The transaction was announced Thursday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.
Kerridge (KAIR-idge), a 6-foot, 245-pound second-year player out of the University of Michigan, originally signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2016. After being released by Washington on Sept. 3, 2016, he was briefly on the Redskins' practice squad. Kerridge was signed to the Packers' practice squad on Oct. 3, 2016, and signed to Green Bay's active roster on Nov. 7, 2016. He appeared in eight regular-season games and a postseason contest for the Packers last season, playing primarily on special teams. Kerridge was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 2 and later released. He was signed to Green Bay's practice squad on Oct. 30 and was elevated to the active roster on Nov. 18. Kerridge played in four games this season, appearing mainly on special teams. He will wear No. 40 for the Packers.
