Packers sign G Josh Walker to practice squad

Rookie out of Middle Tennessee St. replaces C Josh Allen on practice squad

The Green Bay Packers have signed G Josh Walkerto the practice squad and released C Josh Allen from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Tuesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Walker, a 6-foot-5, 328-pound rookie out of Middle Tennessee State, was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts on May 12, 2014. After spending training camp with the Colts, he was released on Aug. 30, 2014. Walker was signed to the Colts' practice squad on Sept. 1, 2014 but was released on Sept. 16, 2014. The Spring City, Tenn., native never missed a game throughout his collegiate career and was an All-Conference USA second-team selection in 2013. He will wear No. 79 for the Packers.
