The Green Bay Packers have signed LB Cardia Jackson to the practice squad. The transaction was announced Wednesday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 236-pound rookie out of Louisiana-Monroe, entered the NFL in April 2010 as a non-drafted free agent with St. Louis and was with the Rams during the preseason before being released in the final roster cutdown. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 after leading the league with 117 tackles. Jackson (first name is pronounced car-dee-ay) will wear No. 48.
The Packers also released WR Terrance Smith from practice squad/injured.
