Packers sign LB Josh Francis

Transaction announced Thursday

The Green Bay Packers have signed LBJosh Francis. The transaction was announced Thursday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Francis, a 6-foot-0, 238-pound first-year player out of West Virginia University, spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 2014 and the Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the Indoor Football League in 2015. After two years at Lackawanna College (Pa.), Francis played two seasons for the Mountaineers (2011-12), starting 13 of 21 games played. He led the team with 15 tackles for loss in 2012.
