The Green Bay Packers have signed LB Reggie Gilbert to the active roster from the practice squad and placed CB Demetri Goodson on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Gilbert, a 6-foot-3, 261-pound first-year player out of the University of Arizona, originally signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016. He spent the entire 2016 season and the first 15 weeks of this season on the Packers' practice squad. In college, Gilbert played in 57 career games, starting 47, and finished with 143 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In his final season, he was one of four senior captains, was named All-Pacific-12 honorable mention and was voted the team's Defensive Player of the Week by the coaches four times.
