Packers Sign QB Harrell; Release QB Pizzotti

The Green Bay Packers have signed QB Graham Harrell and released QB Chris Pizzotti. The transactions were announced Thursday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Harrell set several college football passing records while at Texas Tech. After finishing his career with the Red Raiders in 2008, he spent the 2009 season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.

He will wear No. 7.

Pizzotti was on the Packers" practice squad for the final five weeks of the 2009 season.
