The Green Bay Packers have signed QB Nick Hill. The transaction was announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Hill, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound first-year player out of Southern Illinois, played for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League in 2010-11 before signing with the AFL's Tampa Bay Storm for the 2012 season. In 2011, he completed 387 of 578 passes for 4,758 yards and 97 TDs with just 17 INTs in 16 games for Orlando, while adding nine more scores on the ground. Hill signed with the Chicago Bears as a non-drafted free agent in May 2008, but was released by the team in July of that year. He was a three-year letterwinner at Southern Illinois, where he set single-season school records for passing yards (3,175), passing TDs (28) and completions (258) as a senior.

Hill will wear No. 17. Additional coverage - Jan. 20
