The Green Bay Packers signed T Jason Spriggs and TE Casey Pierce and rookie free agents DT Demetris Anderson, RB Brandon Burks, FB Alstevis Squirewell and G Cory Tucker and released DT Josh Boyd, DT William Campbell, TE David Grinnage, WR Dennis Parks and T Jeremy Vujnovich. The transactions were announced Monday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Anderson, Squirewell, Pierce and Tucker all participated in Green Bay's rookie orientation camp this past weekend.
Pierce, 24, a 6-foot-3, 248-pound first-year player, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Detroit on May 7, 2015, and spent the regular season on the Lions' practice squad. He finished his career at Kent State ranked eighth in school history in career touchdown receptions (11) and recorded two or more receptions in 18 straight games. Pierce will wear No. 49 for the Packers.

Anderson, 24, began his career playing 10 games for Western Michigan as a freshman before transferring to Central Florida, where he started 24 of 26 games played as a redshirt sophomore and junior. He missed all of the 2015 season due to a knee injury. Anderson was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in both 2013 and 2014.* *
Burks, 22, was just the third player in school history to lead the Trojans in rushing in three different seasons. He recorded 1,005 rushing yards as a senior, becoming just the eighth 1,000-yard rusher in Troy history. Burks was named All-Sun Belt honorable mention as both a junior and senior.
Squirewell (al-steve-iss skwy-er-well), 23, started 26 of 46 games played as a defensive lineman at Newberry College, recording 190 tackles (129 solo), 41 tackles for a loss, 15½ sacks, four forced fumbles and three interceptions he returned for 143 combined yards. He was an Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star, first-team Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Super Region II honoree and a two-time first-team All-South Atlantic Conference honoree.
Tucker, 23, was honored by six different organizations as an All-American following his senior season, including first-team Little All-America by The Associated Press. He was also a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year and was the highest vote-getter among all offensive linemen. Tucker started 48 straight games at right tackle over the last four years.
Boyd, originally the first of two choices by the Packers in the fifth round (167th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft, played in 26 games with four starts over three seasons with Green Bay.
