The Green Bay Packers signed TE Beau Sandlandto the practice squad and released RB Brandon Burks from the practice squad. The transactions were announced Friday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.
Sandland, a 6-foot-5, 252-pound rookie out of Montana State, was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round (252nd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. After being released by the Panthers on Sept. 3, he spent the first nine weeks of the season on Carolina's practice squad before being released on Nov. 9. Sandland spent two years at Montana State after transferring from Miami (Fla.), where he played one season after playing two seasons at Pierce College in Los Angeles. He was a first-team All-Big Sky Conference choice as a senior in 2015. Sandland will wear No. 85 for Green Bay.
