The Green Bay Packers signed WR Onrea Jones and G Chris Patrick to the practice squad and released QB Dalton Bell from the practice squad. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, made the announcement Tuesday.
Jones, a 5-11, 201-pound player from Hampton, finished his collegiate career with 96 catches for 1,359 yards and seven touchdowns. He signed as a non-drafted free agent with the Houston Texans in May and was released in August. Jones spent the final month of training camp with the San Diego Chargers before he was released in the team's final roster reduction. He will wear No. 19.
Patrick was a three-year letterman at Nebraska. He played in 18 career games, including 14 starts. Patrick originally signed as a non-drafted free agent with the New York Giants in July but was released in August. He was claimed on waivers by the New England Patriots and released in the team's final cuts later that month. Patrick will wear No. 68.
