The Green Bay Packers will formally dedicate the new Ray Nitschke Field at a 1 p.m. ceremony Saturday, Aug. 1, prior to the team's first training camp practice on the new field.

Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy will lead the ceremony, which will take place on the field and include members of Ray Nitschke's family and local officials.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and gates will open at 12:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. with brief remarks from Murphy and others, followed by a ribbon cutting.

The Packers' first practice will then get underway at 2 p.m.

Nitschke Field promises to be a great addition to the training camp experience. The brand new facility offers the football team a state-of-the-art practice field and fans a safer, more enjoyable experience taking in practice.

It will open 90 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time and will close 30 minutes after the completion of practice.

Concessions will be available for purchase. Carry-ins are permitted, but items such as coolers must be personal in size and not exceed a reasonable amount of space. Smoking and alcohol are prohibited. More Nitschke Field policies are available online at www.packerstrainingcamp.com/attendingpractice.
