GREEN BAY – For the second straight year, the Packers decided to trade back in the first round on Thursday night.
Green Bay traded back from the No. 14 spot to No. 27, getting a fifth-round pick (No. 147) and a first-round choice next year from New Orleans.
Last year, the Packers traded back three spots from No. 30 to No. 33, to the top pick of the second round, before selecting a player.
This year, they're still in the first round, but back where the playoff teams select after having their highest draft position since sitting at No. 9 back in 2009.
