Jim Taylor, one of the greatest running backs in Packers history and a member of both the Pro Football and Packers Halls of Fame, will sign copies of his autobiography, The Fire Within, at the Packers Pro Shop Saturday, Sept. 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. He will be signing only the book.
The No. 2-ranking rusher in Packers annals, Taylor teamed with Paul Hornung to give Green Bay a potent rushing attack that became known as "run to daylight."
In the book, according to the publisher, "Taylor covers his early days as a boy growing up during the depression and how he became the football legend he is known as today. He discusses his time as an All-American at LSU, his performance as a Packer from 1958 through 1966 and the then-newly formed New Orleans Saints in 1967, and his 1976 induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also speaks candidly about his passion and desire to help and contribute to many charity organizations."
Published by Triumph Books, the 256-page hardcover book is available for purchase at the Packers Pro Shop for $24.95. It also is available on www.packersproshop.com.
