Rodgers, Packers overcome 21-3 deficit to edge Jets: Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers fumbled on the Packers' first play from scrimmage and the New York Jets took advantage, building a 21-3 lead in the second
quarter. The Packers used a 97-yard, 10-play touchdown drive after the two-minute warning to trim the Jets' lead to 21-16 before the half, and then got the winning touchdown on an 80-yard pass play from Rodgers to wide receiver Jordy Nelson. The Packers survived the Jets' final efforts to tie the game late in the fourth quarter to collect a 31-24 win.
Brian Hoyer, Cleveland Browns
Hoyer directs dramatic winning drive for Browns: The Cleveland Browns completed a 14-play drive that started at their own 4-yard line in the game's final moments to pull out a 26-24 win over the visiting New Orleans Saints on a 29-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff. Down 24-23, Browns quarterback Hoyer engineered the 85-yard drive, completing seven passes, including one on fourth-and-6 to tight end Gary Barnidge and a 28-yarder to wide receiver Andrew Hawkins with 13 seconds to go that set up the game-winning field goal.
Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears
Cutler leads Bears rally on road vs. 49ers: The Chicago Bears were down 17-0 in the second quarter to the San Francisco 49ers in the home opener of Levi's Stadium. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler led a surge back into the game that started with a 17-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Brandon Marshall at the end of the first half. It was the first of three touchdown catches for Marshall, who collected two more in the fourth quarter in which the Bears erased a 13-point deficit as Cutler threw three touchdown passes, including two in a 27-second span. The go-ahead score was set up by one of rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller's two interceptions. The Bears' defense managed to fend off the 49ers' late-game drive in the 28-20 win.
