GREEN BAY – Former Packers tight end Richard Rodgers has signed a free-agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced on Friday.
Rodgers, a third-round pick by Green Bay in 2014, was an unrestricted free agent.
The 6-foot-4, 257-pound tight end played in 70 of a possible 71 games (including playoffs) for the Packers, catching 120 passes for 1,166 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Rodgers is best remembered for his game-winning 61-yard touchdown catch off a Hail Mary from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to seal a 27-23 road win over Detroit on Dec. 3, 2015. Rodgers' 146 receiving yards against the Lions also set a new franchise single-game record for Packers tight ends.
He became just the fourth Packers tight end to record a season with more than 55 receptions in 2015, catching 58 passes for 510 yards and eight touchdowns.
