GREEN BAY – With the second of their two fourth-round draft picks, the Packers picked up a running back.
The Packers selected BYU senior Jamaal Williams with the 134th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the first traditional running back they've selected since 2013.
Williams, the Cougars' all-time leading rusher, gained 3,901 yards on the ground with 35 rushing touchdowns in 42 career games for the Cougars.
The 6-foot, 211-pound running back left school for personal reasons in 2015, but returned this past year to lead BYU with 1,375 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in only 10 games, including a 287-yard, five-touchdown performance against Toledo.
Williams finish fifth in the country with 137.5 yards per game last year.
