I saw that interview with Bill Cowher, and given that he was one of the best coaches in the NFL, it has to give me and other Packers fans more confidence in this Packers team.
Coach Cowher is a straight shooter. He also said this will be a tough game for the Packers. This isn't your typical Steelers team, but one thing about them hasn't changed: They'll still hit you.

It was spicy and I kind of like that, but it wasn't a proud moment. Show me that you can line up 92 players and 40 coaches and have them pass each other and shake hands without incident every week, and I'm all for it. Let's see, in a 16-game weekend, that's 1,472 players and 640 coaches, and no incidents? That's funny. I'm very happy for hockey's honor, but I also remember the Red Wings whining and crying a few years ago that Sidney Crosby didn't show them enough respect in the handshake ceremony following the deciding game of the Stanley Cup finals. Just win and get off the field, baby.

Vic, you wrote that McCarthy seemed optimistic about Rodgers, then Mike wrote that Rodgers did not sound optimistic about being cleared. Did anyone check if Dr. McKenzie is optimistic? He is the only one that matters, at this point.
This is the most fun I've had since Bradshaw let that myna bird sit on his right arm to try and make the pain go away. As the bird moved up Bradshaw's right arm, Bradshaw said he felt his arm get warm and the healing begin. As it turned out, it didn't work, but it sure made for a good story.

Vic, I'd love to see the Packers go all the way, too, but I'm concerned about the defense's ability to stop the run. Can the Packers fix that problem at this late date?
The Colts allowed the Jaguars to rush for 375 yards in Week 14 of the 2006 season, and the Colts went on to win the Super Bowl and, in my opinion, it was the defense that led the way. What you did no longer matters. At this point in the season, it's what you do that counts.

If there is heavy snow on Sunday (which is a possibility), who does that favor, the Packers or the Steelers?
The Steelers are a cold-weather team, but it's 56 degrees in Pittsburgh today and temperatures are forecast to go into the 60s this weekend. It's been a warm week there. I think cold weather favors the Packers for this simple reason: There's no cold in the league like Green Bay cold. I can't help but wonder what the reaction will be on that plane when it breaks through the clouds and gets a look at the ground.
