RODGERS CONNECTS WITH NELSON

It took just over three minutes for the Packers to get on the board, as QB Aaron Rodgers hit WR Jordy Nelson between two defenders down the right sideline and Nelson did the rest, going 59 yards in all for the touchdown and an early 7-0 lead. It was Nelson's third TD catch of longer than 50 yards this season.

COBB BUSTS LOOSE FOR 47 YARDS

Midway through the second quarter, Rodgers scrambled out of the pocket and tossed a short pass to WR Randall Cobb, who made a nifty catch, spun away from one defender and broke another tackle on his way to a 47-yard gain. The big play set up Cobb's own 3-yard TD grab to make it 28-0, and Cobb went on to a six-catch, 121-yard day.

DEFENSE STUFFS PANTHERS ON THIRD-AND-1, FOURTH-AND-1

Any hope the Panthers had of a comeback was extinguished on the opening drive of the second half, as the Packers defense stopped Carolina on back-to-back short-yardage plays in Green Bay territory. First, Panthers RB Johnathan Stewart found no room to run up the middle on third-and-1, and then QB Cam Newton was stuffed on a fourth-and-1 sneak. The Packers got the ball back and drove 58 yards for a TD in four plays to take a 35-3 lead.
